Perspective is defined as “a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view”
It has been a stormy season in our home. Life has been particularly tough. Honestly, I have been through all the emotions. As we get up day after day waiting for God to change the situation. It has been hard. Today, I was reminded that regardless of the situation I alone control my perspective.
It is so easy to forget the everyday blessings and focus on our wants and needs. An attitude of gratitude will go a long way. I can choose how I act.
I encourage you to make a list of your blessings. Things that you can remind yourself of when the storms come. Whether it be something like food in the pantry, healthy kids, a home, bed, clothes. All those things we take for granted write them down and refer back to that list when you are tempted to forget them.
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
You may not be able to change what is happening around you or to you but you can change your perspective. Let’s focus on the good and trust God with the rest.
